Mozilla and Google renew their partnership
Mozilla, publisher of Firefox and Google have renewed , Tuesday, December 20, their business partnership. Under the terms of this agreement, valid for the next three years, Google remains the search engine default browser open source. In exchange, Mozilla receives rémumération. The economic terms of the agreement have not been divulge. This is strategic for Mozilla. The consolidated revenue amounted to Mozilla in 2010 to $ 123 million (94 million), and 84% from this agreement with Google.
RISE OF GOOGLE CHROME
Since the signing of the last partnership in 2008, the sector has evolved browsers, with a surge in Chrome. The latest data from the site NetMarketShare, Firefox now represents 22% of market share, ahead of Internet Explorer from Microsoft (53%), but now hounded by the Google Chrome (18%).
